The skills are derived from the definitions within the SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) framework. SFIA is widely accepted and used within the IT industry being recognised by the BCS, IET, OGC, e-skills UK, IMIS, itSMF and DBERR, among others. SFIA provides a common reference model for describing the skills needed to use a large number of technologies to develop and support a variety of information systems; across a range of business organisations.
