Met Office

Weather related clothing

We have teamed up with Rapanui, an eco-fashion company, to create an exclusive collection of weather-related clothing. Following the success of the first designs we are now launching a second line of clothing:

Iconic T-shirt in Vegas

Following the success of the first collection we have increased the range of designs to include two new male designs, two new female designs and the first jumper. The first range has included some of Rapanui's best sellers with customers pictured wearing these in Las Vegas and on the TV show Deal or No Deal.

"This collection is a respectful nod to the heritage of the Met Office acknowledging the themes of weather, climate change and science, mixed with English cultural traits such as the seaside, good-natured sarcasm, fascination with the day-to-day and our talent at science and engineering. These themes have been designed in to a contemporary and graphical casual wear collection to bring the
Met Office brand up-to-date and to engage with young people." - Martin Drake-Knight, Designer

The first designs were created to help promote the Met Office with a younger audience increasing our brand reach whilst helping to diversify our business. These designs were:

Iconic - This striking graphic was inspired by the original Met Office weather icons that we all know and love. There's a storm coming!

British Summer - Everyone loves a British seaside holiday; deck chairs, ice-creams and lazy days on the beach - and they're even better on those summer days when the weather forecast is for sunshine. This T-shirt is an ode to sunny weather, and the happiness it brings to millions.

Anemometer - This tee illustrates the science behind forecasting and explores the iconic equipment used to predict our weather using a Haynes manual-style exploded plan.

Heavy Blame - We love to blame it on the weatherman, especially on rainy days. As heavy rain leads to heavy blame, the public points a cloudy finger at our meteorological heroes. At the end of the day it's all in good fun, its part of our culture and this tee celebrates it!
