Business in the Community (BITC)

Gold Award in the BITC Corporate Responsibility Index 2011.

Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM)

We were rated as excellent in stages 2 and 3.

The Met Office was winner of the 2011 BREEAM in use award.

Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)

CIPS Supply Management Awards 2011 - short listed for Best Contribution to Corporate Responsibility.

Exeter's most cycle-friendly business

Cycle Exeter in association with Exeter Chamber of Commerce - Business is Better by Bike Awards. We achieved the gold award and were also named Exeter's most cycle-friendly business.

Institution of Engineering and Technology

We were shortlisted for an innovation award for the DC power Supercomputer trial.  

The Wildlife Trust Biodiversity Benchmark Award

One of our objectives for FY 2011/12 was to achieve the prestigious Wildlife Trust Biodiversity Benchmark Award. We are please to say that this was awarded to the Met Office in July 2011.

ISO 14001 accreditation

ISO 14001 is a standard for Environmental Management Systems. One of its main aims is to help organisations to reduce their environmental footprint by reducing the amount of pollution and waste the organisation produces.

We are proud to have ISO accreditation and our current certificate is valid from August 2011 until August 2014

Investor in People (IIP) accreditation

Investor in People is a nationally recognised standard that describes best practice in how we manage people and their development.

Being an 'Investor in People' demonstrates to customers, suppliers, potential recruits and our owner that we take our development seriously

The Two Ticks Award

We have a positive attitude towards interviewing and employing disabled people and have been awarded the Two Ticks Positive about Disable People Award.

Public Sector Sustainability Award

In December 2011 we won the Public Sector Sustainability Award 2011 for Most Sustainable Organisation (Government).
