UK Daily Weather Report

The Met Office has produced a Daily Weather Report for the UK since September 1860 and they are still produced today as the Daily Weather Summary.

Charts for the UK and Northern Hemisphere D-Day 6 June 1944The Daily Weather Report provides a summary of the observed weather for each day for a selection of stations with charts and tables and textual descriptions of the weather on the day. The format and content of the daily weather summary varies over the many years of publication.

The summaries are a rich historical resource for anyone with an interest in the weather of the past. Scans of our original records have been completed from the period 1879-1980.

The tables below provides access to the summaries from the war years. If you would like to view any summaries not provided here please contact  the library.
