Helping Government

The battle against climate change is currently at the centre of Government strategy and could radically change the way public service organisations operate.

Understanding the weather, climate and environment plays a vital role in the Government's climate change strategies, in order to:

• Create them
• Make them work
• Help Government departments deal with the challenges.

As the foremost centre on climate change, the Met Office is ideally suited to help policymakers to navigate those challenges. We are already working with decision makers across Government to ensure that our science focuses on the addressing the questions most pertinent to them.
