Climate change is a complex subject and there are some genuine areas of uncertainty and scientific controversy, the Met Office works with other agencies to tackle and investigate some of the issues surrounding climate change and its science.
The Met Office has led a five-year EC-funded research project into the likely effects of climate change on Europe. This study involving 66 partners across Europe and beyond is the biggest ever integrated climate change research project.
The ENSEMBLES projectA three-year programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, aiming to improve the UK and Russia’s understanding of climate change in both countries. Includes a research joint project between the Met Office and the State Hydrological Institute in Russia.
