The Cyprus flag The Meteorological Service of Cyprus is responsible for providing meteorological information and services to all the sectors of economy and social life in Cyprus

Sitting under the administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, the Meteorological Service of Cyprus is funded through the government budget. Hydrology is the responsibility of the Department of Water Development and Seismology under the Department of Geological Survey, which report to the same Ministry as the Meteorological Service.

The Meteorological Service runs two synoptic stations, one upper-air station, about 40 climatological stations and 105 precipitation stations. The meteorological station network also includes 18 automatic weather stations.

The number of staff is 71, of which 21 are professional staff.
