Encouraging positive business relationships

We are committed to operating ethically and with integrity across our business relationships and in everything we do. This includes the products we supply to our customers, the transparency of our operations, the interaction we have with our suppliers and how we deal with customer data and enquiries.

Initiatives include:

• Accreditation to the Information Fair Trader scheme including abiding by the five trader principles of openness, transparency, fairness, compliance and challenge.
• Continuing to work on our process for responding to and acting upon customer feedback fully automatic lighting system which responds to occupancy and natural light levels.
• Aiming to purchase goods and services from those suppliers who operate sound environmental policies and are ethically robust. Aided by enforcement of an environmental purchasing policy to meet all appropriate legislative and best practice standards. In addition, we work with other organisations, e.g. The Devon Procurement Partnership, to develop best practice.
• Responding effectively to Freedom of Information requests and fulfilling Data Protection requirements.

Working with Business in the Community (BITC) we are continuing to look at how we can further develop our Corporate Responsibility policy and activities in these areas.
