A new art competition for school children this autumn could mean you seeing your picture in an international album of weather pictures. The competition, organised by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), is being held for children around the world and the Met Office is encouraging UK children to take part this coming term. Children are invited to contribute paintings and drawings inspired by the weather under various themed headings. The top entries from each of the 187 countries that have been asked to take part will then have the chance of being published in a book to be titled 'Weather by Children'. The competition is open to three age groups; 4-7 years; 8-10 years; and 11-16 years. The deadline for entries is 30 November 2005. Full details on how to enter and the competition rules are available by logging on to the Education pages of the Met Office web site.
