So where did it snow?

26 December 2005

This year, the Met Office has seven locations around the UK that are used by bookmakers to determine whether or not it was a white Christmas.

These are the official results from the locations:

DID IT SNOW ON CHRISTMAS DAY?
Aberdeen
No
London
No
Birmingham
No
Manchester
No
Cardiff
No
Belfast
No
Exeter
No

There is no evidence of snow having fallen anywhere in the UK on Christmas Day. It was mainly dry across the UK with just the odd spot of light rain or drizzle in places, mainly near the east coast of England. However it was a cold day in the Glasgow area where persistent fog kept the maximum daytime temperature down to -1.3 °C at Glasgow/Bishopton.
