Cold snap may have a sting in its tail...
Wednesday is officially the first day of spring, but the weather has more of a wintry feel to it as overnight frosts along with hail, sleet and snow showers continue to affect much of the country.
Met Office Chief Forecaster, Paul Davies, said, "Squally winds with gusts up to 60 m.p.h. and sudden reductions in visibility, will make for difficult driving conditions at times."
Met Office forecasters are saying the focus of the wintry showers is transferring to the eastern side of the UK. Meanwhile, early signs are emerging of a risk of further snow for mid-week, with an increased threat of disruption in some areas.
