Flaming good bonfire weekend

Firework celebrations won't be a damp squib, forecasters at the Met Office are predicting. Mainly dry and settled weather is expected this weekend, although temperatures will be lower than recently experienced.

The next few days will also see light winds for much of the UK which, combined with smoke from bonfires, could increase the risk of patchy mist and fog.

Martin Young, chief forecaster at the Met Office said: "Southern areas of the UK have already seen a lot of dry weather over recent days, and this is expected to be the case for much of the country this coming weekend, and probably on Bonfire Night itself. It will become a good deal chillier than of late, so you may need to wrap up if you are out at any displays".
