Severe weather continues into next week

Heavy rain in some western areas during Friday has set the scene for the country’s weather over the coming days.

A Met Office severe weather warning issued on Friday highlights north Wales and northern England as areas most at risk from further heavy rain during Sunday and Monday. There could be as much as 80 to 100 mm over hills and mountains during this time.

The Environment Agency Floodline, 0845 988 1188, provides latest information on flood warnings.

The public are encouraged to keep up to date with latest Met Office forecasts through its website and TV and radio broadcasts.
