2007/8 has been another successful year for the Met Office, achieving all its Key Performance Targets and making £4.4m business profit which will be invested in further improvements to weather and climate services.
These achievements have been highlighted in the latest Met Office Annual Report and Accounts published today.
In a webcast recommending the report, Met Office Chief Executive, John Hirst said: "This year's report describes how the quality and reliability of Met Office forecasts, and our highly respected research into the causes and implications of climate change, made a real difference to people’s lives all over the world."
