Easter sees the first big getaway of the season with many people hoping to make the most of the long weekend.

The Easter break is likely to have mixed weather. There will be rain or showers at times but with some sheltered places further south and east seeing the best of any dry and bright conditions. Temperatures are expected to range from 11 °C in Scotland to 16 °C in south-east England, which will feel pleasantly warm in the spring sunshine. Winds will be moderate or fresh at times.

Ewen McCallum, Chief Meteorologist, said “Unfortunately, the Easter weather is expected to be showery but there will be good dry, bright spells in between the showers for people to get out and about.”
