The start of Wimbledon looks bright, with dry weather predicted for the start of the tennis tournament.

Forecasters at the Met Office expect plenty of fine weather into next week, together with a rise in temperatures and the chance of the hottest days of the summer so far.

The settled weather is predicted to arrive as we head towards the summer solstice on 21 June and outdoor events across the country get into full swing. The highest temperatures could reach 28 °C in parts of southern England by Tuesday.

Throughout the Wimbledon Championship the Met Office will be providing detailed forecasts on our website, allowing you to keep up to date with the latest weather. This forecast will be updated each morning ahead of the day's play.

The Met Office will be working with Wimbledon officials throughout the Championship. Our forecasters will be in constant contact with the referees and providing them with the very latest forecast information.
