Email alerts from the Met Office

Email alerts

The latest weather warnings from the Met Office can now be delivered straight to your mailbox as a new email alert service is launched today.

The free service will allow users to stay up to date at times of severe weather as the Met Office will email notification of warnings to registered users. In addition to the latest weather warnings users will be able to subscribe to receive alerts on the latest news or the latest job vacancies from the Met Office.

Users will also be able to subscribe by simply providing their email address and selecting the information they wish to receive using an easy-to-use, secure registration process. At any time, users can change their preferences or unsubscribe from the service.

This latest service complements other ways of getting the latest information from the Met Office in addition to visiting our website. The Met Office already provides news, job vacancies and warnings via RSS newsfeeds. Users can also get the latest weather information using weather gadgets on Vista, Firefox and iGoogle, or by following the Met Office on Twitter, or getting special-event forecasts and other news videos on YouTube.
