August Bank Holiday weather

27 August 2009

Cloudy sky

For those looking forward to fine and warm weather over the bank holiday weekend, it looks like there will be mixed fortunes across the UK.

As has been the case in recent weeks, forecasters at the Met Office are predicting that the best of any dry and sunny weather will be towards southern and eastern England, where temperatures could peak on Bank Holiday Monday.

Although there will be some warm sunshine at times with temperatures reaching the low 20s Celsius, further north and west it is expected to be cloudier with the chance of some rain, especially on Sunday.

Chief Forecaster, Chris Tubbs said: "England and Wales can generally expect a good deal of fine weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. The best days are likely to be Saturday and Monday when it will be warm and sunny in some places. Temperatures may reach 26 °C in south-east England and East Anglia on Monday."
