The press office manages relations between the Met Office and the media. It acts as the first point of contact for local, national and international media enquiries. It issues news releases and statements on behalf of the organisation on many topics from climate change to the day-to-day weather and more.
The press office is staffed by a mixture of trained meteorologists and former journalists.
