Graduate placements and work experience

We are keen to attract talented individuals from across the community. In order to do this we:

• Offer students who have embarked on a sandwich degree the opportunity to work at the Met Office on an industrial placement for up to a year (48 weeks).
• Offer students who have just completed their A-levels, undergraduates and recent graduates the opportunity to work at the Met Office during their summer vacation (up to three months).
• Offer work experience to children in years 10 and 11 which gives them the chance to undertake a week’s work experience at set dates during the summer. Further details on which weeks and how to apply for work experience will be advertised here during the autumn.

Due to the expected high demand from students and the limited number of places available this is a competitive selection process.

Students who impress us during their placement are encouraged to apply for permanent jobs at the end of their degree, or whenever vacancies arise.
