Leo Hume-Wright

Leo has been working in the UK wind energy industry for five years. He is currently a wind energy specialist at the Met Office in Exeter, providing services to the renewables sector.  

Developing techniques to use the Met Office's numerical weather prediction data to provide wind resource assessments to Renewable energy companies, he is a strong advocate of mesoscale models as long term reference datasets.  

Career background and experience

Leo studied Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College, London and holds an MSc New & Renewable Energy, Durham University. After his studies he spent three years as Wind Resource Analyst at Ecotricity, UK, during which he was closely involved with the implementation of wind monitoring campaigns, resource assessment and wind turbine micrositing.
