Pollution episode study using NAMEThe Met Office was asked by the Environment Agency to investigate a pollution incident that occurred across the Midlands and South Yorkshire on 2 September 1998. NAME was used to model the emissions from the likely sources, i.e. those roughly upwind, to gain some insight into the dispersion process, help determine source culpability and to predict the likely concentrations in areas where no monitoring stations were actually located. The modelling results are shown below.
