Belfast Christmas lights switch on

A Christmas tree lit for the festive season

Belfast gets ready for Christmas on the 15 November when the city switches on its Christmas lights.

Belfast's Lord Mayor Nichola Mallon will officially switch on the lights outside of Belfast city hall to mark the start of the festive season with the help of children's TV cartoon favourites Ben and Holly.

CBeebies favourite gardener Mr Bloom will also be at the switch-on with his veggie friends.

As well as the city's Christmas lights being switched on, Belfast's Christmas market starts at 12 noon on the same day.

Organisers and those attending the Belfast Christmas lights switch on will be hoping for a clear, dry evening so all can enjoy the festive spectacular.
