The League Cup final has been a fixture on the football calendar since the 1960-61 season. This year's final will take place on Sunday 26 February, at the home of football in England - Wembley Stadium.

After winning their semi-finals on aggregate the two teams in this year's final are Cardiff City and Liverpool FC. This is the first time Cardiff City have reached the Carling Cup final.

Liverpool have won the competition more times than any other, winning the cup seven times. The last time they took the League Cup final was in 2003, beating Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
