Edinburgh plays host to one of the UK's biggest street parties each year to celebrate the new year.
Scotland's capital hosts a night of celebrations across the city. Join the 80,000 revelers in the streets around Edinburgh castle to celebrate the new year and see performances from acts including Mark Ronson and Friendly Fires. Then at midnight watch one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in the country to welcome the start of 2012.
There will also be a section of the Edinburgh street party designated for the traditional Scottish dance, the keilidh, where you can dance your way into the new year.
Other events taking place on the evening include the ticketed party in the gardens with a headline set by Primal Scream, supported by Bombay Bicycle Club.
