Children enjoying the Kids love the Races roadshow

The Kids love the Races roadshow will be touring some of the country's best racecourses over the bank holiday week, and with under 16s admitted free to every racecourse in the country it makes for a great day out for all the family.

The free roadshow has plenty of fun things to do to keep the kids entertained, including opportunities to;

  • dress up in racing silks
  • learn how to ride on a mechanical horse 
  • find out why racehorses don't just eat grass.

25 August - 1 September - Check the weather forecast before you head to your nearest Kids love the Races roadshow over the bank holiday week.

The roadshow will be touring the following racecourses over bank holiday week:

25th August - Goodwood
26th August - Epsom Downs
28th August - Catterick Bridge
30th August - Thirsk
31st August - Sandown Park                          
1st September - Brighton

Some courses will also be providing free bouncy castles and face painting, as well as junior racebooks so children can learn about the runners and riders participating on the day

Spectators and enthusiasts will be looking for the perfect course conditions to suit their chosen horse and rider and to make for an exciting few days of racing at the Ascot racecourse.

On race day, the course officials will check the course conditions and inform the owners and jockeys. This information also helps those who have an interest in the race.

Owners will be looking for the course to be classed as 'good' which means the ground will be neither too hard or too soggy.
