This year's Virgin Active London Triathlon takes places over the weekend of the 27-28 July. Over 13,000 competitors will race in the three components of triathlon:
There are a number of different triathlon events taking place over the weekend, all of different lengths and for a range of abilities. This year the events take place around the ExCeL Centre, London, where races will start and finish. There will also be a free EXPO at the finishing line of the triathlon races. The bike courses will benefit from road closures, which will allow competitors to race on traffic-free roads.
This year's route is yet to be announced, but will be centred around the Royal Victoria Dock in London. A number of celebrities take part in the event each year and in previous years have included Jenson Button and Vernon Kay.
