Manchester Pride has been taking place for the past ten years, although Pride events have been taking place in the city for the past 20 years.
The event aims to raise money for local LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) organisations in the Greater Manchester area.
The event lasts 10 days, with some of the main events taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, when the famous parade takes to the streets of Manchester.
As well as the parade taking place on the Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend, a 71 hour non stop party will include some top music acts, opened by The Feeling on Friday. Lucy Spraggan and Rylan will then take over on Monday 26 August for a revamped reality special.
