The Great Spitalfields Pancake Race

How do you like your pancakes?

We not only like to celebrate Shrove Tuesday by eating large quantities of pancakes but we also use it as an opportunity to wear our favourite fancy dress costumes and race with them!

The Great Spitalfields Pancake Race is just one of the pancake day races that take place in London on Shrove Tuesday.

Participants have to walk through the course as quickly as possible while flipping a pancake. All you need to bring is your own frying pan and the organisers will provide the pancakes!

Heats for the pancake race start at 12.30 pm followed by the final. The winner will take home the grand prize, an engraved frying pan, and there will be further prizes for best dressed participants.

Those taking part in the pancake race have the opportunity to get sponsored for the event, with all proceeds going to the London Air Ambulance
