Paralympic Games - Cycling track

The Paralympic track cycling events will take place in the Velodrome.

The Velodrome, located in the Olympic Park, will play host to this year's Paralympic track cycling event.

Athletes who are visually impaired, amputees, those with cerebral palsy and other physical impairments are all able to take part in the para-cycling events. A mixture of tricycles, tandems, hand-cycles and bicycles are used based on the individual's impairment.

In total athletes will be competing for 18 Gold medals across the following events:

  • Individual pursuit
  • Time trial
  • Individual sprint
  • Team sprint

30 August - 2 September - Check the London weather forecast if you are travelling to the Olympic Park to watch the Paralympic track cycling at the Velodrome.

The GB track cycling team are widely regarded as firm favourites in this year's London 2012 games after they dominated the podium at the Beijing games in 2008, taking home a total of 12 gold medals.
