Radio 1's Big Weekend

Over 60,000 music fans will be descending on Glasgow over the weekend of 23-25 May for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.

For the first time ever, Radio 1's Big Weekend will take place in two different locations in the same city. Friday night is being dedicated to dance music and will be held in George Square, before the second two days of the Big Weekend take place at Glasgow Green.

Radio 1 will be welcoming some of the world's top artists to Glasgow to perform. Acts include: 

  • Katy Perry
  • One Direction
  • Kings of Leon
  • Coldplay
  • Rita Ora
  • Pharrell Williams
  • The 1975

This year's event is taking place in Glasgow to celebrate the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

 At this year's Big Weekend in Glasgow, artists from all genres will be playing on one of the three stages:

  • Main Stage
  • In New Music We Trust Stage
  • BBC Introducing stage
