Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day, on Friday 13 March, is a day when adults and children alike raise funds, and awareness, for the charity by doing something funny for money.

What it's all about

Fund-raising activities taking place across the country, including

  • Sponsored fancy dress.
  • Quizzes, comedy or karaoke nights.
  • Sponsored sporting events.
  • Cake sales.

The main events are held at the BBC Television Centre in London. If you are heading to the televised event this year, check the weather forecast before setting off.

13 March - Whether you're being sponsored to sit in a bath of beans for Red Nose Day or joining one of the live, outdoor performances, check your local weather forecast.

A number of local Red Nose Day events also take place around the country. The official Red Nose Day website  has details on local events and how to organise an event.

Where does the money go?

  • Money raised by Red Nose Day helps vulnerable people in both the UK and Africa.
  • It assists projects which make a difference in local communities.
  • Comic Relief money can also ensure those vulnerable people get the vital medical treatments they need.
