Spare a thought for the knights of Warwick Castle who have found some ingenious ways to keep cool in hot weather.

With knightly duties including greeting guests, rescuing princesses and horseback jousting, it's no wonder the heavily-clad heroes work up a sweat under their armour, which can weigh up to 20 kg (44 pounds).
Set in 60-acres of wooded gardens by the River Avon, Warwick Castle offers plenty of shady spots from which to enjoy the twice-daily jousts and the firing of the Mighty Trebuchet. Deep in The Castle Dungeon it remains dark and damp - ideal for the grotesque plague-ridden ghouls that haunt the place - while the birds of prey spread their wings and soar over the Castle ramparts in search of cool breezes.
See Warwick Castle for details of summer attractions including Horrible Histories™ Foul Fayre, jousting knights and plenty of outdoors action!
