The 'Get Ready for Winter' awareness event, now in its third successful year, was held at the High Chelmer Shopping Centre in Chelmsford by the Essex Civil Protection and Emergency Management (ECPEM) team. This event brought together a number of Essex County Council services, voluntary service and the health sector to promote the winter resilience message. This included Essex Civil Protection and Emergency Management, Flood and Water Management Team, the Red Cross and the NHS.
The aim was to bring together a number of agencies and services to highlight ways in which residents can prepare and support themselves, as well as others, around them for the months ahead. Providing help and advice for periods of severe weather such as those experienced in August and October this year, and comes at a time that response agencies are preparing for winter.

Thursday 31 October, Bolton Council - Get Ready for Winter event, Bolton Town Hall.
- The event brings together Council departments, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service. Other organisations attending include NHS, Environment Agency, Highways Agency, Electricity North West, Transport for Greater Manchester and the Territorial Army along with voluntary organisations such as British Red Cross, Salvation Army, North West 4x4 Response, Age UK, Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, RSPCA and RAYNET.
