Information and support to protect your health and well being

The belief that weather and health are connected dates back to Hippocrates more than 2,000 years ago; however even today, the affects of certain weather conditions on health are often unrecognised.

Conditions such as heatwaves, snow or ice can have a significant impact on your health, but keeping informed about the weather and staying prepared can help you to stay safe and well.

Our health pages provide you with information and advice about steps you can take to protect yourself from the elements. We also work closely with the Department of Health and the Health Protection Agency to offer our advice in planning and preparing for any severe weather.

Our health forecasts - UV, pollen, Cold Weather Alert and Heat Health Watch - give you early warning of weather conditions so you can take proactive steps to protect yourself and better manage your symptoms.

Information for Health professionals is hosted under our products and services section.
