Rumblings...

Seismometer readings

FitzRoy's Peak is currently classed as dormant because there hasn't been any activity for quite a while. A volcano is usually considered to be extinct if there are no written records of its activity, but this one last erupted just over two hundred years ago and made quite a mess on the island.

Recently residents of Green Island have noticed an increase in the number of small earthquakes shaking their homes. What's more, monitoring equipment around the volcano has picked up changes in the shape of the volcano and in the gases coming from it.

In fact, the rumblings have become so frequent that geologists warned residents a few days ago that the volcano could be about to erupt!
