How we produce the weather forecast which will tell you what it will be like in a few hours time.
At short time ranges a higher level of detail can be forecast with more reliability and very short-range forecasting is known as nowcasting.
At short-range we use higher resolution models to pick up the smaller (meso-) scale details.

Nowcasting
Nowcasting maps the current weather, then uses an estimate of its speed and direction of movement to forecast the weather a short period ahead.

Today's weather
Today's weather forecast is available at the national, regional and local level, across the UK covering the major towns, cities and landmarks.

NSWWS
The NSWWS warns the community by providing warnings of severe or hazardous weather which could cause problems.
