Mist, fog and low cloud will be quite widespread at first and this is likely to be very slow to lift and may persist into the afternoon in some parts, especially in the north and east of the area. A dry day generally then, with some spells of hazy sunshine in places before more general cloud spreads over from the west towards dusk.
Poor or very poor at first, with fog patches, this most likely at low levels early in the day, with the fog slowly lifting into low cloud and breaking up to a large extent allowing visibility to improve to mostly good or very good.
Valley fog lifting into occasional patches around 100 to 400 metres for a time mid to late morning, and then mostly clearing by the afternoon.
Southwest 20 mph towards dusk in the west.
| Valleys | Zero Celsius, rising to an early afternoon maximum of Plus 8 Celsius. |
| 800 m | Plus 3 Celsius. |
| Freezing level | Above the peaks. |
Cloudy, dull and very misty with rain or drizzle through the morning and into the afternoon but probably dying out later in the day.
Poor or very poor, becoming mainly moderate in the afternoon.
Extensive above 200 to 300 metres.
South or south west 20 mph.
| Valleys | Plus 5 Celsius rising to Plus 8 Celsius. |
| 800 m | Plus 3 Celsius. |
| Freezing level | Above the peaks. |
A grey rather damp misty morning, with low cloud covering the higher peaks. Becoming dry and brighter with the low cloud lifting for the afternoon but thickening cloud may bring rain to some western parts towards dusk. Light winds freshening from the southeast later.
Sunny intervals and showers, some of which could be heavy in the south and west of the area, and then with more prolonged rain likely to spread from the southwest around dusk. Moderate to fresh south or southwest winds becoming strong south to southeast later.
Perhaps a dry start but cloudy generally, with rain soon spreading across the whole area and heavy at times. The rain will be accompanied by an increasing south to southwest wind which is likely to reach gale force later in the day.
