A ridge of high pressure will persist over the Scottish mountains on Wednesday and Thursday keeping conditions mainly dry and settled.
Weather
There will be variable amounts of cloud around during the morning, rather cloudy skies expected at first but there could be some sunny breaks in the west. However, there will be a temperature inversion around 800m, so the summits will be clear. The cloud thinning and breaking during the day, sunny skies developing through the afternoon. Mainly dry, but there is a small risk of a shower later in the afternoon.
Visibility
Moderate or good, locally poor at first.
Cloud base
Broken or overcast 300 to 600m in places during the morning, lifting and breaking, little significant cloud expected during the afternoon and evening.
Wind and temperature at 900m
East or northeast 5 to 15 miles per hour 4 to 8 Celsius

Cloud probably rather extensive again first thing, but lifting and breaking as we go through the day, bright or sunny skies expected during the afternoon and early evening.

At 900m, winds northeast to northwest 5 to 15 miles per hour. The temperature 4 to 8 Celsius and the freezing level above the summits.
