Outbreaks of rain through the early hours should die away late in the night. Some cloud breaks may occur towards dawn allowing short-lived fog to form in valleys. During Thursday morning cloud bases will quickly lift and break with bright or sunny periods developing. However scattered, heavy and perhaps thundery showers will develop by the afternoon with a risk of hail. Showers tending to ease through the evening before low cloud edges in from the east by midnight.


Moderate or poor in overnight mist and rain and very poor in hill and valley fog. Improving to good or very good during the morning, but moderate in heavy showers. Becoming poor late in the evening.

Hill fog

Periods of hill fog above 250 metres in the morning. Cloud then lifting above the summits in the morning. Persistent hill fog returning in the east above 200 metres by midnight.

A cloudy start with light rain or drizzle and hill fog, mainly affecting eastern areas. Cloud should slowly break to give bright or sunny spells by the afternoon, although with a risk of occasional showers. Cloudy again overnight with further outbreaks of rain and hill fog. Light winds.


Poor with hill fog at first. Slowly improving to good during the morning but reducing to moderate in any showers.
