A dry start with some sunshine, cloud amounts increasing with showers developing from the late morning onwards. A few heavy showers are likely with a risk of lightning. Risk of more persistent rain arriving by the late afternoon and also a chance of some sleet over the highest ground. Windy with northwesterly winds strengthening and may reach gale force over the summits late in the day.

Generally good or very good with temporary falls to moderate or poor in showers or rain.

Hill fog

Mainly nil but ragged patches may form above 600m in heavy showers.

Northwesterly wind 25-30mph, increasing to 45 to 50mph.
