Weather

Showers will soon die out this evening but extensive low cloud and some drizzle will spread from the east by Friday morning. Starting cloudy and misty on Friday with persistent hill fog. Some brighter spells possible in the west of the area but a generally cloudy day with occasional rain or showers developing in the morning. Rain may become heavy with a low risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon, and persisting through the evening.

Visibility

Moderate in any showers this evening, otherwise good at first tonight, but becoming poor by Friday morning with widespread areas very poor with fog on the hills. Improving to moderate or good where cloud lifts on Friday, but becoming poor in any heavy rain or thunderstorms.

Hill fog

Occasional patches 600m at first this evening. Mostly persistent above 200m by Friday morning, but locally occasional patches in the west. Becoming periods around 500m by afternoon.

Cloudy with further rain overnight, again possibly heavy and thundery. Cloudy with occasional rain or drizzle at first on Saturday, with a band of more persistent rain spreading from the southwest later in the morning, Rain clearing to sunny intervals and scattered showers by mid-afternoon..

Generally moderate or poor with hill fog. Becoming good at times during the morning and more generally during the afternoon,but occasionally moderate again in showers later.

Locally occasional in the west, otherwise periods above 400m, becoming occasional patches above 600m in the afternoon.
