Parties involved with a particular marine casualty may require
detailed knowledge about the weather and sea conditions at the
time in question, be it for health and safety reasons or in connection
with litigation.
MOMCS uses extensive global databases to investigate past weather
events and provide expert reports, used typically for cases involving:
- ship loss or damage;
- heavy weather damage to cargo;
- personal injury;
- pollution incidents.
MOMCS team members have experience in providing testimony to
court and commercial arbitration hearings and have worked with
experts from other scientific disciplines.
