Regional forecast for Wales

Cloudy, cool and wet today. Dry and sunny on Sunday.

Today:

A fairly cloudy and cool-feeling day with bands of showers, often heavy, moving across the country. There will be some rumbles of thunder too but it will become drier from the west later in the day. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers across the far west, but elsewhere will be dry and clear. Temperatures will fall to low single figures, giving patchy grass frost and mist or fog patches. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.

Sunday:

A cold start with just the odd light shower across Pembrokeshire at first. A fine day otherwise with plenty of sunshine and a much warmer feel than Saturday. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Fine on Monday but rain may edge into the west of Wales on Tuesday. It will be breezy on both days. Cloudy and mostly dry on Wednesday. Temperatures slightly higher.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 6 Oct 2016 to Saturday 15 Oct 2016:

Dry and bright for many areas to end the working week with some warm sunshine by day, however nights will turn chilly under clear skies with a risk of fog and local grass frost. More unsettled weather with rain and stronger winds across the far northwest of Scotland will probably return to western parts through the weekend, however some eastern areas could remain fine until the start of the new week. Thereafter a changeable weather pattern is expected to dominate across all areas, most unsettled, wet and windy in the west, while some eastern parts will see much less frequent spells of rain. Temperatures are generally expected to be near average, but feeling cooler in wet and windy spells, and with some chilly nights where skies stay clear.

UK Outlook for Sunday 16 Oct 2016 to Sunday 30 Oct 2016:

The most likely weather scenario for the second half of October is for changeable conditions to dominate across most parts. The north and northwest are likely to see the most unsettled weather, with strong winds and showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed with some drier interludes. Further south and southeast there is a greater likelihood of drier, brighter weather, although still with the risk of some rain at times. Temperatures will vary through the period, probably averaging out slightly above normal for the time of year, though with an increasing risk of overnight frost in the more settled spells, especially in the north.
