Regional forecast for Strathclyde

Largely dry. Some hot sunshine developing Thursday and Friday.

This Evening and Tonight:

A dry evening, rather cloudy but some bright or sunny intervals over Lanarkshire whilst coastal Argyll will be misty. Tonight dry with clear spells developing with mist over coastal Argyll clearing. A humid night with light winds. Minimum Temperature 11 °C.

Thursday:

Dry with plenty very warm sunshine developing with just patchy cloud. Becoming hot inland during the afternoon, especially across Greater Glasgow and down the Clyde valley. Light Southeast winds. Maximum Temperature 26 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Fine and settled on Friday with some hot spells of sunshine, notably humid by night. However Saturday will become cloudier with some heavy showers developing. Sunday fresher and partly cloudy.

A mild and dry night for most.

This Evening and Tonight:

Clear spells developing through the night for many, but staying mild. Mostly dry, although patchy drizzle possible in the far northwest of Scotland. Some low cloud may persist in the far north-western too, and also along south-western coasts.

Thursday:

A very warm day with plenty of sunshine for most on Thursday. Early cloud in northwest Scotland will soon become confined to Shetland. Warmest in the west and the southeast.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry, sunny and hot for many places on Friday and Saturday. However, an increasing risk of heavy, thundery showers spreading slowly in from the west from Saturday morning onwards.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Monday 29 May 2017 to Wednesday 7 Jun 2017:

A very uncertain period, but the more likely scenario is for rather mixed conditions on Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday, with showery outbreaks of rain, perhaps heavy and thundery, drifting in from the south, but also some brighter spells. Temperatures are likely to be down in comparison to the weekend, although it could stay rather warm and humid, especially in the southeast. Meanwhile, it will probably be cooler and fresher in the north and west, where we may see windier conditions. From Wednesday onwards, we will generally see a mixture of sunshine and showers, particularly across the northwest. However, we may hold on to drier, brighter and perhaps warmer conditions in the far southeast, although some thundery showers are possible.

UK Outlook for Thursday 8 Jun 2017 to Thursday 22 Jun 2017:

Confidence is currently low through this period, though we are more likely to see changeable conditions continue through the early part of June. More settled weather may begin to dominate for a time towards the middle of June, bringing drier and brighter weather for many. Temperatures are likely to be close to normal at first, but may become generally warm, perhaps locally very warm for a time during mid June. By the latter part of June, there is a possibility of more unsettled conditions developing, with spells of rain at times, and temperatures returning closer to average.
