Regional forecast for Strathclyde

Cooler and cloudier, some brighter spells. Showery rain this evening,

Today:

Somewhat cooler and cloudier than recent days but some sunny spells will develop, the best of these across western Argyll. Thicker cloud will bring showery rain to South Argyll and Ayrshire later in the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Showery rain will edge north across most areas this evening. This will die out again tonight though some patchy rain will return to Argyll and Ayrshire towards morning. Minimum Temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday:

A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, these heavier and more persistent in Argyll. Some drier spells in Glasgow and the south. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

The weather will stay unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, though with some drier and brighter interludes. Turning a little warmer again.

Turning unsettled this week, but staying warm for many.

Today:

Cloud and showery rain moving north, reaching southern Scotland later, perhaps turning heavy and thundery, mainly from the Midlands northwards. Low cloud, mist and coastal fog persisting for north-eastern areas. Some sunshine elsewhere and feeling notably warmer in eastern England.

Tonight:

A mild and rather cloudy night will follow with further outbreaks of rain affecting many parts, especially in the north and west. South-westerly winds will also strengthen.

Wednesday:

Mainly cloudy, breezy with outbreaks of locally heavy rain moving north-east across northern and western areas. Generally dry in the east/south-east with some sunny spells, where it'll be locally warm.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying unsettled, particularly in the north and west with showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed with some warm sunshine. Breezy for most, particularly on Thursday and Friday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Apr 2017 to Monday 10 Apr 2017:

This weekend will start bright and breezy with showers, particularly on Saturday, these turning heavy and thundery in places. By Sunday it should turn drier for all, with some good spells of sunshine. Rain may spill into the southwest later in the day but for all the weekend will feel cooler than this week, with overnight frosts possible. By early next week, high pressure will begin to build in from the southwest bringing drier, brighter weather with some sunny spells, particularly in the southeast. Meanwhile the northwest is likely to remain unsettled with spells of rain or showers and strong winds at times, but there will be some drier interludes too. Feeling warm in any spring sunshine, particularly in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 25 Apr 2017:

Much of this period will see a good deal of settled and dry weather across the UK. We are however likely to see unsettled conditions with cloud, rain and strong winds particularly affecting the far north and west of the UK at times. Such unsettled spells of weather are expected to be short-lived though. Temperatures are likely to be warmer than average, but with rather chilly nights at times, leading to frost and fog in places. Any colder spells are likely to be short-lived too, although there some hints that these may become more prevalent later in the month.
