Staying cloudy, with some rain at times over the hills.

Another rather cloudy and mild day for all parts. The odd spot of drizzle remains possible, mainly over the hills, but most places should stay dry. A few bright spells are also possible, mainly to the east of higher ground. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Staying cloudy and mild overnight. The winds will be light and the cloud will be thick enough for a little drizzle over the hills and some patchy hill fog too. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.

Thursday:

Thursday will be mostly cloudy once again with patchy light rain or drizzle, mainly over the hills. Winds will remain light and hill fog will persist in places. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

It will stay mostly cloudy, occasionally damp, and turn slightly cooler over the next few days. Although the there will be more in the way of brightness by Sunday.

Another rather cloudy and mild day for most with a little light rain or drizzle, mainly in the north-west, although more persistent over Shetland. Chilly in southern, south-eastern and central England, but with some sunshine in the south and south-east.

Tonight:

Rather cloudy and mild for most with a little drizzle and hill fog in places. Clearer and colder in the south and south-east with a frost, turning cloudier later.

Thursday:

Cloudy for most with patchy drizzle in the north-west. Perhaps a little cloudier in the south-east, best of the brightness in the south, south-west and north-east. Chilly in the south.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining generally settled through the weekend, rather cloudy at first but more in the way of sunny spells by Sunday. Turning colder for most with overnight frosts becoming more widespread.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Monday 23 Jan 2017 to Wednesday 1 Feb 2017:

High pressure is likely to continue to dominate across the UK on Monday and Tuesday, with mostly dry and settled conditions expected, aside from in the far north-west where rain and strong winds are possible. Temperatures will be mostly either around average or a little colder. Looking further ahead, more unsettled conditions are expected to slowly spread further into the north and west bringing spells of rain and strong winds, although it will be more settled further south and east. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are expected to continue to slowly spread south and east through the period, eventually bringing milder conditions to most and outbreaks of rain at times across the country, this likely heavier further west and lighter and less frequent further east.

UK Outlook for Thursday 2 Feb 2017 to Thursday 16 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February confidence is fairly low. However, the most likely scenario is that Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet and windy weather to all at times, though this will be interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures will generally be around average for this time of year, though with occasional milder spells. There is a possibility that an area of high pressure will become dominant again towards the middle of February, bringing more settled conditions with the return of overnight frost and patches of fog. However, confidence regarding this detail is low.
