Largely dry with variable amounts of cloud and some bright or sunny periods, best of the sunshine towards the east coast. Some occasional light rain or drizzle possible across the Trossachs. Still feeling mild. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Some patchy rain or drizzle across western Tayside otherwise dry this evening and overnight. Any clear periods across the east may allow some patchy frost and fog. Minimum Temperature 4 °C.

Thursday:

Chance of a little drizzly rain across the Trossachs otherwise dry and still rather cloudy at times, best of any sunshine towards the east coast. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Largely dry with some sunshine at times although becoming somewhat colder with some overnight frost.

Rather cloudy and mild for most with a little drizzle and hill fog in places. Clearer and colder in the south and south-east with a frost, turning cloudier later.

Thursday:

Cloudy for most with patchy drizzle in the north-west. Perhaps a little cloudier in the south-east, best of the brightness in the south, south-west and north-east. Chilly in the south.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining generally settled through the weekend, rather cloudy at first but more in the way of sunny spells by Sunday. Turning colder for most with overnight frosts becoming more widespread.

UK Outlook for Sunday 22 Jan 2017 to Tuesday 31 Jan 2017:

High pressure is likely to continue to dominate across the UK on Sunday, bringing rather cloudy skies across much of the north. However, southern counties will see generally colder and brighter conditions, though with a risk of frost and fog forming overnight too. Looking ahead into the next working week, more unsettled conditions may spread into the north and west which will bring some spells of rain at times here. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are likely to spread south and east through the week, which will bring milder conditions to most and outbreaks of rain at times across the country. The bulk of the rain is likely to be in the west.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 Feb 2017 to Wednesday 15 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February the most likely scenario is that Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet and windy weather to all at times, though this will be interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures will generally be around average for this time of year, though it will turn milder again at times. There is a possibility that an area of high pressure will become dominant again, towards the middle of February, bringing more settled conditions with the return of overnight frost and patches of fog. However, confidence regarding this detail is low.
