Regional forecast for Highlands & Eilean Siar

Becoming dry and brighter during Wednesday.

Today:

Cloudy start with still a little light rain across Hebrides and Northwest Highlands, this soon dying out to leave a dry day and becoming brighter with sunny periods developing. Warmer on West Coast. Maximum Temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

It will remain dry this evening and tonight with clear spells, these more prolonged across Skye and Lochaber. Thick cloud arriving far southeast towards dawn with patchy light rain possible. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.

Thursday:

A dry and bright start for most, but soon thick cloud and rain spreads northwest, with some heavier outbreaks in places. Some drier spells in south later. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Becoming drier and brighter on Friday. A band of rain arrives on Saturday, clearing later in the day to scattered showers these continuing into Sunday. Breezy and feeling cool.

Staying changeable with spells of rain, drier for the weekend.

Today:

A largely wet and dull start to the day for much of England and Wales as rain slowly moves into Northern England by the afternoon. Drier elsewhere with perhaps some rain in Northern Ireland. Feeling cool. Breezy in east.

Tonight:

Rain from today will gradually move northwards into Scotland, with some further outbreaks for Southwest England. Drier elsewhere but remaining largely cloudy with showers in the southeast possible.

Thursday:

Drier with lighter winds for much of England and Wales, although thundery showers are possible later in the south. Windy in north with spells of rain, making it feel chilly.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Further rain for England Friday, but after a changeable week, it looks like the weekend will turn drier for many with some sunny spells, although some rain in the northwest.

UK Outlook for Sunday 2 Jul 2017 to Tuesday 11 Jul 2017:

Changeable on Sunday, with cloud and outbreaks of rain, along with heavy showers in the north. Breezy too, but there will be also some sunshine. More settled on Monday, with any showers confined to the far north. Changeable conditions will return thereafter, with showers or longer spells of rain, though there will be some drier and brighter spells too, most likely in the south and east. However, even here there is a risk of thunder at times. Showers are likely to be heavier in the northwest, perhaps turning thundery at times. Sometimes windy, especially in the north and west with the risk of local gales here. Temperatures are expected to stay near the seasonal average, occasionally warm in the east, but locally rather cool in the west.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 12 Jul 2017 to Wednesday 26 Jul 2017:

The changeable weather is likely to continue in the north at first, bringing further showers or longer spells of rain, especially in the north, with only brief bright or sunny spells in between, with these most likely in the south. However, drier and warmer spells are likely to become more prevalent in the south and these may spread further north as we head into the second half of July.
