Regional forecast for Highlands & Eilean Siar

Cloudy with rain Sunday morning, but drier and brighter later.

This Evening and Tonight:

This evening will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy and thundery in places. Rain will become persistent later in the evening and overnight, but with drier spells towards Speyside. Fresh northwesterly winds in the west. Minimum Temperature 10 °C.

Sunday:

Outbreaks of rain gradually becoming confined in northwest with drier and possibly brighter conditions developing elsewhere. Some sunshine possible across Hebrides. Much cooler than of late. Maximum Temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Dry start Monday but outbreaks of rain soon spread north. Tuesday starts rather cloudy and breezy with occasional rain but brighter in afternoon in east. Wednesday looks drier and brighter.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Scattered thunderstorms moving northeast during Saturday.

Today:

Thundery showers will move northeast through Saturday, turning heavier across northern England and southern Scotland during the afternoon. Heavy and persistent rain too for Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Becoming drier across the south and west and still feeling hot.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of occasionally thundery rain will slowly ease northwards overnight, but persisting throughout in the far north. Elsewhere it will be dry with clear spells, feeling cooler than of late.

Sunday:

Rain will continue to slowly clear the Northern Isles through Sunday, elsewhere dry and bright with a fresher feel but further thundery showers arriving from the south in the afternoon.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

On Monday thundery showers will push north with brighter conditions following. Fresher again on Tuesday and Wednesday with light rain in the northwest and drier and brighter conditions further southeast.

UK Outlook for Thursday 1 Jun 2017 to Saturday 10 Jun 2017:

Thursday and Friday will be mainly dry with sunny spells for most, although cloud and rain could spread southeastwards during the day. Still rather warm and humid in the southeast, with the chance of some thundery showers. Through the rest of the period, we are likely to see a more changeable pattern becoming established across the United Kingdom, with northern and western parts seeing spells of rain or showers at times. Meanwhile, many southern and eastern parts should be drier and brighter overall, with any spells of rain that do spread southeastwards likely to be fairly weak. Windy at times, especially in the northwest. Temperatures are likely to be near normal in the north and west, but warm in many southern and eastern areas.

UK Outlook for Sunday 11 Jun 2017 to Sunday 25 Jun 2017:

Confidence is low during this period, although we are likely to see the changeable pattern continuing across the United Kingdom through the early part of June, with a predominately west or southwesterly flow. The unsettled conditions mainly affecting northern and western parts early on, but gradually these look likely to spread southeastwards, with temperatures near normal. By mid to late June confidence remains low, although on balance we are likely to see a continuation of the changeable conditions for many, with temperatures remaining near the average. However, there is a low probability of a more settled and perhaps warmer spell of weather possible around mid-June, mainly in the southeast.
